Please download, look at and, ideally, fill in the consultation form before your first appointment to check the list of contraindications.
(Napiers' clients have a separate form, only available from Napiers.)

Massage is generally considered a safe procedure for most people but there are certain contraindications that mean massage should not be given to either a particular part, or all, of the body. The contraindications section of the consultation form lists all the conditions, symptoms or situations that make massage either unsafe or undesirable. Please read through this carefully prior to your first appointment. Contraindications come under two categories:

• medical approval required: the massage can only take place if the client allows the therapist to seek medical, GP or specialist approval, or the client fills out an indemnity form.

• treatment restricted: the massage may take place, but not directly on the affected area or it may take place at a later date.

If you are able to fill out the form and email it or bring it with you to your first appointment, that will mean less time filling in paperwork and more time massaging on the table.
